03 Feb 8 Reasons to Consider a Disney Resort Hotel
When it comes to where one should stay while vacationing at the Walt Disney World® Resort,
the question of whether or not it’s worth it to stay on property is often asked. While staying on
Disney property can be more expensive than staying elsewhere, Disney Resort Hotels have a
lot to offer. In fact, I encourage everyone planning a Disney vacation to at least consider
staying at a Disney Resort Hotel and here’s why:
- Transportation
When you stay at a Disney Resort Hotel, transportation to the
theme parks and Disney Springs is provided. Transportation
options include buses, boats, and even a gondola system known
as the Skyliner. Disney transportation will drop you off just outside
the park entrance. When there is no need to navigate unfamiliar
roads then park and make your way through a sea of cars to reach
the gate, you get more time to enjoy your vacation! - Wake Up Calls With Character
It can be hard to get up in the morning. Staying at a Disney Resort
Hotel makes waking up a little easier. Guests are able to schedule wake up calls from Disney
characters! The exact messages vary over time, but always feature popular characters such as
Mickey and Stitch. - Theming
Disney is known for its incredible attention to detail and theming within its parks. Their Resort
Hotels deliver the same kind of experience. From decor, to dining, to entertainment, each resort
has its own unique character. The Animal Kingdom Lodge for example, features African artwork
and carvings and offers views of animals on the Savannah. Guests at Port Orleans can enjoy
beignets and a carriage ride along the Sassagoula River. Over at the Art of Animation, guests
are impressed by larger than life representations of favorite animated characters. - Pools
The incredible theming extends to Disney’s pools as well. Pools
match their resort’s theme and many do so on a grand scale. Staying
at the Beach or Yacht Club? You can enjoy a pool with a sand
bottom and a waterslide inside a shipwreck. You can take a swim at
the base of a volcano at the Polynesian or enjoy water cascading
down a pyramid at Coronado Springs. - Evening Entertainment
Guests at Disney Resort Hotels can enjoy special evening entertainment after a day in the
parks. Imagine unwinding while taking in a Disney film and enjoying the refreshing evening air!
You can do just that when you attend Movies Under the Stars at your Resort Hotel. Campfires
complete with s’mores and storytelling are another popular evening activity. - Dining
One of the best things about a Disney vacation is the food! Guests at Disney’s Resort Hotels
are surrounded by some of the most incredible dining experiences on property. For example,
Topolino’s Terrace at the Riviera Resort offers a character breakfast (featuring unbelievably
good croissants) in the morning and fine dining at night. It’s position atop the hotel with views of
both Epcot and Hollywood Studios make it an amazing place to dine regardless of time of day.
Not in the mood for an elaborate meal? No problem. Disney Resort Hotels feature counter
service options as well. You can even order ahead on your way home from the park and pick
your order up when you arrive. - Fireworks
Many Disney Resort Hotels offer views of the evening shows at nearby parks. Hotels in the
Magic Kingdom area, such as the Contemporary, not only provide spectacular views of the
fireworks, but pipe in the soundtrack as well. Those who stay in the
Boardwalk area are lucky enough to be able to take in the evening
fireworks shows at both Hollywood Studios and Epcot. Even those
staying at Moderate or Value properties such as Caribbean Beach and
Art of Animation may find that they are able to catch a glimpse of the
nightly display at Hollywood Studios. - Disney Standards
It can be easy to forget one of the best reasons to stay at a Disney
Resort Hotel, Disney’s high standards for quality and service. Regardless of resort, Disney
guests will experience impeccable service and accommodations that are clean, comfortable,
and well appointed.
When it comes down to it, the biggest drawback to staying at a Disney Resort Hotel is that you
eventually have to leave.
