19 Aug Disney Announces Genie and Genie+
When vacationing at Walt Disney World®️ or Disneyland®️ what do you wish for? Less time spent in lines? A personalized guide to the parks? A way to predict how long the wait will be at your favorite attraction later in the day? Disney’s new Disney Genie digital service will grant all those wishes and more.
Disney Genie is set to debut this fall. The complimentary service will be built into the My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps. It will allow guests to streamline their in park experience with tips to reduce time in line, personalized itineraries based on their preferences (ie thrill rides, Star Wars and Disney Princesses), current and predicted wait times for attractions, the ability to join virtual queues, a booking tool for dining, mobile ordering and even a virtual assistant.
For those looking for an even more streamlined experience, Disney Genie+ will be available. This paid upgrade to the Disney Genie service will allow guests to select a time to ride some of their favorite attractions. They’ll simply check Disney Genie+ for the next available ride time, make their selection and when it’s their time to ride, bypass the standby line by taking the all new Lightning Lane. Guests can select a time for one attraction at a time as many times as they would like during the day. The service can be used in multiple parks in a single day for those whose tickets allow park hopping. Disney Genie+ also includes exclusive audio experiences and photo features. Disney Genie+ will cost $15 per ticket per day at Walt Disney World®️ and $20 per ticket per day at Disneyland®️.
Guests will also have the option of purchasing access to Lightning Lane entry times for extremely popular attractions such as Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. The cost for purchasing this access has not yet been announced. However, we know that a purchase will allow guests to select times to ride 2 attractions per day that are not included in the Disney Genie+ level of service.
